Abyei Civil Organization Accuses GOSS Of Abyei Clashes
3rd March 2011 – (Khartoum) –The Abyei Civil Society Organizations says the Presidency is to be held responsible for the on-going clashes in Abyei that has left more than15 people dead.
The President of Abyei Civil Society Organizations, Doctor Kalro Ayuel Kuacgor spoke to Sudan Radio Service by phone from Khartoum on Thursday.
[Dr. Kalro Ayuel]: “I would like to hold accountable the Presidency for its failure to implement the Abyei Protocol on time and I don’t know what delays them? Are they happy with what is happening or how people are dying in hundreds? There is nobody who has moved to solve this problem. I cannot say what is happening is good neither from the side of the Ng’ok Dinka nor from the side of the Messeriya, at the end they are all Sudanese citizens. There should have been an urgent political action to solve this problem because at the end there is nobody who would be able to impose their will on others neither Messeriya nor Dinka Ng’ok.”
Clashes have been going on in Abyei over the past six days between the Messeriya militias and the Joint Police Units from Southern Sudan.
