Carter Center Deploys International Observers For Registration
9 November 2010 – (Juba) – The Carter Center says about 30 international observers will be deployed to various areas on the 12th of November to observe the registration process.
Maggie Ray is the deputy director for the International Referenda Observation Mission for the Carter Center. She spoke to SRS in Juba on Tuesday.
[Maggie Ray]: “We are training 30 medium-term observers from all over the world who have come to Sudan to participate in observation of the voter registration process for the referendum. So, people are for 3 days for training and they are trained on the procedures for voter registration, how to analyze how the voter registration process is going and then they will be deployed to their areas of responsibility on the 12th.”
Voter registration exercise is scheduled to start on Monday, the 15th of November.
