Eid In Juba

16 November 2010 – (Juba) – Muslims in southern Sudan have joined the rest of the Muslims in the world in the celebration of Eid Al Adha.

Speaking to SRS in Juba on Tuesday one of the Muslims Mr. Faroukh Osman El-Khatib said that the celebration is meant to give alms to the needy.

[Farok Osman]: “Eid Adha celebration preaches the discipline of [Sadaka] offerings to everybody who is able to slaughter or give a Sadaka/Offerings to the needy also this has been mentioned in the Quran the preaching of Sadaka or giving in a help or assistance to everybody around here in the world not only Muslims. I send all the warm greetings to all Muslims in Southern Sudan for a better Adha celebration”

The GOSS declared Tuesday a public holiday.
