Federal Minister Of Health Resigns

1st March 2011 – (Khartoum) – The Federal Minister of Health, Doctor Abdalla Tiya Juma has resigned.

Doctor Abdalla Tiya who is a member of the S-P-L-M resigned on Tuesday because his ministry is being accused of corruption.

The S-P-L-M spokesperson in Southern Kordofan State, Mister Hamadain Ibrahim spoke to Sudan Radio Service by phone from Kadugli on Tuesday.

[Hamadain Ibrahim]: “Yes Doctor Abdalla Tiya has forwarded his resignation from the Ministry due to corruptions in the ministry and his move is to defend the governance at the level of the country and to protest the rampant corruptions in his ministry. He cannot bear the responsibility of corruptions in institutions which he is part of. Either he is to correct these corruptions or the better is to resign from this position. As such, he has taken the right decision by resigning from his ministerial position in order to teach people not to follow corrupt ways and one of the means of fighting corruptions is that the worthy people cannot be part of corruptions”.

Mister Hamadain Ibrahim was speaking to SRS from Khartoum on Tuesday.
