GOSS Plans For Returnees

10 January 2011 - (Juba) - The Government of Southern Sudan is currently working on a 3-year program plan for southern Sudanese citizens returning from northern states.

Speaking to SRS on Thursday in Juba, the Undersecretary in the GOSS ministry of Labor Madam Rebecca Okwaci said the government has formed a committee that will handle the situation.

Okwaci said that one of the main problems that the government will face is creating jobs for people returning from northern states.

Thousands of southern Sudanese citizens serving in various national government institutions including the 1st Vice President and GOSS President Salva Kiir will lose their jobs after southern Sudan is declared independent on 9th July 2011.
