GOSS Releases 4.5 Million SDG For Repatriation Of Southerners In Egypt
23 November 2010 – (Cairo) – The Southern Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission says it has received 4.5 million Sudanese Pounds to start repatriating southern Sudanese in Egypt.
Speaking to SRS in Cairo on Monday, a representative of the commission Mister Kormach Chol Badong said the exercise targets youth living in squalid conditions.
[Kormach Chol Badong]: “There are some people who are living in bad conditions, they don’t have jobs, and also there are some people who went to Israel and came back. And there are some of the youth who have become criminals. All of these people surely do not have any interest in the referendum; those are the kind of people that we are targeting. We are targeting those who do not plan to register for the referendum, and they are staying in bad conditions. Now GOSS has provided us with 4.5 million Sudanese Pounds so that we may start repatriating people.”
