JEM Urges International Community To Help Move Khalil Out Of Libya
2nd March 2011 – (Doha) –The Darfur anti-government group the Justice and Equality Movement or JEM is urging the international community to help move its leader Khalil Ibrahim from Libya.
Libya has been facing a popular uprising through its towns for the past two weeks.
JEM secretary for external relations, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim spoke to Sudan Radio Service from Al-Doha on Tuesday.
[DR.Jibril Ibrahim]: “We urge the international community to assist in freeing him. (Khalil Ibrahim) He needs to be a person who can freely move between negotiation forums to where he wants freely. Forcing him to stay at one place is something undesirable by any means. For him to move, he must be provided with necessary documents that may enable him to move from where he is to where he desires. This is what we are talking about.”
Khalil Ibrahim has been residing in Tripoli since May 2010 after being denied entry to Chad because JEM withdrew from the Doha peace talks.
