Kiir Exhausted

12 July 2010 - (Juba) – GoSS minister of information, Benjamin Marial says President Salva Kiir is taking his first rest since the beginning of the struggle for liberation.

Marial was speaking to the media in Juba on Monday.

[Benjamin Marial] “During the liberation struggle over the last twenty years or so, Salva Kiir Mayardit never had a holiday and during the last five years, he did not even have a break of some times. So, I’m telling you that, no, Salva is not very ill. He has gone to Nairobi to have a medical check-up and also, he is fatigued. I haven’t seen a leader spending twenty-five years without even a short break. That must be a robot machine, isn’t it? So, the president is well and he will be coming back”.

Benjamin Marial, the GOSS Minister of Information, was speaking to the media in Juba on Monday.

SRS contacted the GOSS liaison office in Nairobi on Monday to enquire about the president’s health. No one was available to comment.
