Ministry Of Education In CES Suspends Officials Of Juba One Boys Basic School

4th March 2011 – (Juba) –Central Equatoria state ministry of education has suspended officials of Juba one Boys Basic School for allegedly leasing the school playground to a local investor without consulting the ministry.

The lease allows the local investors to use the piece of land for 18 years.

David Loila Ladu is the director general in the ministry of education, Central Equatoria state.

[David Loila]: “The reason for their suspension is that they decided to have a contract of the school playground of Juba One boys without informing the ministry of education authorities. It was the school administration, the PTA and the payam education supervisor. The reasons they need that investor is to construct a villa in that place because they need the school to be fenced and they also need the extension of some of the classrooms.”

Last week the local investors had started construction work on the playground.
