New Established University of Northern Bahr El-Ghazal To Open In October

28 February 2011 – (Northern Bahr El-Ghazal) –Admission for the first batch of students for the new established University of Northern Bahr El-Ghazal will begin in October.

The Principal of the University of Northern Bahr El-Ghazal, Professor Karlo Ayuel Kuacgor said that the university will commence with four colleges.

He was speaking during an exclusive interview with SRS on Saturday in Khartoum.

[Karlo Ayuel]: “We are determined to start our program the coming October. This university now has nearly four colleges: The first college has paramedical studies and we will start with nursing and health sciences and there are also radiological sciences. All about three branches and this college is a nucleus which we hope that it later become a college of medicine. The other college is Petroleum and Mining. The other college is that of community development studies and it will have various departments. The forth college has earth sciences of course and survey and architecture, that is to say college of architectural engineering”.

Professor Karlo is urging southerners to put a lot of effort in eradicating illiteracy in southern Sudan.

[Karlo Ayuel]: “I would like to say for Southern Sudan and particularly for the young people, you have a role to play, we need to eradicate illiteracy in Southern Sudan. If we eradicate illiteracy in Southern Sudan, that means we have taken a giant step in building the new country Southern Sudan because it is through education that we can do so.

Doctor Karlo further said as the university continues to expand; new colleges will be established according to the needs of the university and the communities in the surrounding areas.
