Political Analyst On Removal Of Southern MP's From National Parliament
25 February 2011 – (Khartoum) – A Sudanese political analyst says that the move by the national legislative assembly to remove southern MP’s may hinder discussions on the post referendum issues.
The Speaker of the National Legislature Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir said on Wednesday that MP’s from the south will not participate in the parliamentary session to be held next April.
Taj El-Sir Meki spoke to SRS from Khartoum on Friday.
[Taj el-Sir Meki]: “According to the CPA, the transitional period should continue until the 9th July. There are still a lot of issues unresolved including the oil revenue sharing. Following this move the oil revenue might not be shared or not be resolved. There are many issues still unresolved, although these issues will be determined by the presidency. But all other issues related to these unresolved issues, should be determine in the presence of southern Sudan MP’s in the parliament. Personally I can’t find any justification for this move, rather than it is a beginning of creating a problem.”
That was a Sudanese political analyst Taj el-Sir Meki, speaking to SRS from Khartoum.
