SPLM-DC Says No Committe Formed To Present Discontent On Constitutional Review Process

10th March 2011 – (Khartoum) –The SPLM-DC has denied media report that southern Sudanese opposition parties formed a committee to present their discontent on the constitutional review process to the SPLM.

Speaking to SRS on Thursday, SPLM-DC assistant secretary general, Sisto Olur Erista said no committee has been formed to discuss with the SPLM the point of contention.

[Sisto Olur –Eng]: “No committee was formed to discuss with the SPLM. We are not talking as a single party; we are working as a block. This is a group of people who have call themselves and they are discussing issues with the SPLM. We are working together as a group. So there is no committee which is formed to discuss with the SPLM about the disagreement that came during the dialogue.”

Last week, nine opposition parties walked out of the constitutional review process in Juba citing dominance and biasness by the SPLM in the constitutional review process.
