SSLA Speaker On A Mission To Sensitize Communities On Referendum

18 November 2010 – (Rumbek) – The speaker of Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly, Honorable James Wani Igga arrived in Rumbek, Lakes state on Wednesday to sensitize the community on the importance of participating in the referendum.

Speaking in Rumbek on Wednesday, Wani Igga emphasized the need to concentrate on mobilizing communities to participate in the forthcoming referendum in January 2011.

[James Wani Igga]: “Each of you never and never let down our people this is the time for each and everyone of us to carry the cross by abandoning every thing else. This is the time we need to abandon all the rest of our things even marriages, we can postpone till after referendum which is not too far so that we are not diverted, so that we really can concentrated on mobilizing our people for the referendum because it is not going to repeat itself, so this chance will never knock.”

Wani Igga also called on all southern Sudanese to maintain peace and stability as they await the referendum.
