28 July 2010 - (Nairobi) – And finally to the world of Sports
In Athletics, the 17th African Athletics Championships began in Nairobi on Wednesday with the participation of more than forty six African countries.
Sudan will be represented by nine athletes competing in the 400 and the 800 meter races. Among the athletes present in Nairobi is the 800 meter World Indoor Champion Abubakr Kaki.
Kaki however will not be participating in the 800 meter race and will instead compete in the 400 meter race.
Football next; Al-Hilal drew with Tusker FC of Kenya 1-1 in a friendly match played between the two teams in Omdurman on Tuesday evening.
Al-Hilal’s next challenge will be on Sunday in their away Confederations Cup game against Caps United of Zimbabwe in Harare.
And finally in tennis; Sudan is participating in Al-Fatih’s under-18 International Tennis Championship in Libya.
The seven day championship started on Monday and will end on Sunday. Sudan is represented by three players.
