Turnout For Registration In Nzara WES Impressive
19 November 2010 – (Nzara) – The people of Nzara county, Western Equatoria state are turning up in good numbers to register in the upcoming self determination referendum for southern Sudan in 2011.
In an interview with SRS in Nzara on Thursday, the chairperson of Nzara registration center Luka Samuel Bako said that the exercise is going on well.
[Luka Samuel Bako]: “We started the program of registration on Monday the 15th and the turn up of the people is going well. We have registered over 700 people including women and the turn up of women and even young people is good. So that’s even what you are seeing on the queue, we work up to five and sometimes we leave people and tell them to came the next morning especially the second day and the third day. So the turn up is very very good. Those who are still at home let us turn up so that we register and vote for our rights, let us not just stay at home idle when there is registration going on.”
The referendum registration exercise which started on the 15th of November is expected to ends on the 1st of December.
