Yei Celebrates Final Referendum Results
9 February 2011 – (Juba) – Citizens in Yei River county joined the rest of southern Sudanese in celebrations at the announcement of the just concluded self determination referendum.
Thousands of citizens gathered at the Yei Freedom Square where they broke into jubilation following the announcement of the referendum results in Khartoum on Monday.
The chairman of the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission, Ibrahim Khalil made the announcement of the results on Monday where over 98 percent of the registered voters voted for the secession.

[Monday Moi]: “Yei generally had received the referendum with joy with happiness even up these morning children moving around with drums with slogans expressing their feelings that the future belong to them and they are now happy and they are going to be the beneficiaries of the coming youngest African new nation which is due to be done later July 9th of this year.’’
